Shanghai Office Furniture Expo | How natural light + green walls are reinventing the office of the future

When 996 workers are still looking up at the ceiling in the grid room. When CBD white-collar workers are still counting the clock under the fluorescent lights, lost in thought. Shanghai Shangsheng New Institute quietly grows an office paradise that subverts imagination. Of course, if you want to know more, welcome to our Shanghai Office Furniture Expo.

Say Architects' new headquarters is redefining the vitality of modern office spaces through a 'de boundary' experiment! I hope to integrate the design background of Shangsheng Xinsuo into the space, creating an open garden full of freedom and vitality, and exploring various possibilities of design.

The whole office is located on the south side of the second floor of Shangsheng New Institute, and rows of glass french window bring sufficient sunlight. The community's corridors are covered in greenery all the way, spreading all the way indoors.

There is no cold white wall blocking the view, and there is no sense of loneliness created by the lattice. Only 180 ° panoramic french window pour in with wutong and green shade, crushing the sparkling light of the Huangpu River on the floor tiles.

Pushing the door inside, the open office area is placed in the center, and the public space is L-shaped, enclosing the office area. Visitors can explore the water scenic area and reception room along the route of the public area.

The dynamic public area carries two functions: reception and exhibition. Gradually inward, the decoration and color tend to be peaceful, fitting the design atmosphere of the exhibition hall.

The static office area continues to use Say's self-designed long desks, eliminating the partitions between workstations and bringing more freedom and flexibility to work. The middle hollow of the back water bar counter frames the cedar and fern trees outside the window, allowing light to pass through the glass and inject warmer energy into the space.

The entire area on the left is used as a conference room. Opening the sliding door inside is the exhibition hall for storing sample props, which can provide a substantial prop experience during the conference.

The entire office is decorated only with lush green plants, and the metal structures touched by the space are exquisitely decorated. Fine craftsmanship brings a delicate texture experience, and the integration of natural wood grain and stone texture injects a little hidden elegance into the space.

The light passes through the corridor and refracts in the garden showcase, creating subtle light and shadow effects. The artistic language of the inside and outside is connected at this moment.

The enlargement of public spaces brings more vivid scene functions, and the scope of work activities is not limited to the office area. Soft partitions only divide functional areas, but people's exploration of space can be everywhere.

As the designer said, "We are not designing an office, but cultivating an urban oasis. When work returns to the essence of humanity, space will naturally become the best productivity catalyst." We hope that the new office will maintain youthfulness and a sense of urban life, light, agile, and full of vitality, becoming a place for free expression.
