ZHAO WEIXIN
Freedom and boundless creativity are at the heart of our design philosophy. Founded in Shanghai by architect Zhao Weixin in 2022, the studio is grounded in design practice and cultural research. Its practice spans architecture, interior design, furniture, and product design. Each project is approached from an architect’s holistic perspective, establishing a complete and systematic design language that ranges from large-scale spatial order to the subtle details of objects.
We do not chase fleeting trends. Centered on a minimalist language, we avoid unnecessary decoration and the accumulation of cultural symbols. By stripping away complexity, we reveal the inherent warmth of materials, the precision of proportion, and the imprint of culture—giving each work a lasting vitality that transcends time. At the intersection of architecture, interiors, and furniture, we seek to establish a continuous design logic between space and objects.
Architect Zhao Weixin graduated from Shanghai University with a bachelor’s degree in 2014 and received his master’s degree from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London (AA) in 2016. He subsequently worked with major architectural firms and renowned practices in China and abroad. Drawing on more than a decade of experience in architectural design, he founded his own studio in Shanghai in 2022 and established the furniture brand LIBEVERSE in 2025. Through his distinctive architectural perspective, he reconsiders the aesthetic boundaries and practical value of contemporary furniture. Over the years, he has maintained a keen sensitivity to space and form, integrating the sense of order, aesthetics of negative space, and Eastern sensibility found in architectural design. Rooted in minimalism, his furniture combines an architectural character with an unmistakable Eastern spirit.
