From September 11 to 14, 2024, China Home Expo will create a new Hall 4.1&5.1, "Design Eden·Contemporary Design Trade Fair", with the theme of unlimited life, bringing together nearly 100 design brands with an exhibition scale of 50,000 square meters. All round for everyone to present a high standard, high aesthetic design feast.

 

 

Siza’s Special Collection will appear at Booth 4.1A01 of China Home Expo, integrating Siza's unique ideas in interior, furniture, crafts, sculpture and many other design fields, presenting a kind of contemporary human settlement design thinking.

Alvaro Siza (born June 25, 1933) is a Portuguese architect who is considered one of the most important architects of our time. His work focuses on creating a deep connection between modern design and the historical environment, and has received universal attention and recognition for its personal quality and keen capture of the cultural changes of modern society.

 

Siza's work has been recognized all over the world and he has won the Pritzker Prize, the Mies Van der Rohe Prize for Architecture, the Gold Medal of the Alvar Aalto Foundation and the UIA Gold Medal. Since the 1990s, Siza has completed important projects such as the Galician Center for Contemporary Art, the School of Architecture at the University of Porto, the Church and Parish Center of Santa Maria, and the Fondation Seravis Porto Museum of Contemporary Art.

At the same time, Siza is an excellent furniture and lighting designer, painter and sculptor. In many of his projects, he can be found in the design of home products.

 

At this autumn's Siza’s Special Collection, four partner brands including SPSS, CAUNY, Climar and Reggiani will come to the scene to jointly present their understanding of design and interpret contemporary Siza themes.

Since the preparation of the Cauny-Alvaro Siza joint watch, no step in the design process of the new watch has been random. Cauny's vision meets the professionalism, creativity and freedom of architect Alvaro Siza's design, resulting in two beautiful watches that are exquisitely elegant in design and perfectly match the wrist.

These two new watches are a memorial to the history of watchmaking, but dare to bring something new through the hands of Alvaro Siza, making these two watches real timepieces that promise to surprise watch lovers around the world.

"A lot of the time, I use indirect light. I don't like focused, intense light, but use the reflection of the wall for indirect illumination. Other times, for different activities in the house, I put indirect light in side by side with chairs for reading, or direct light for painting or reading activities. The different types of lights come from the different uses that you set in the space."

Climar Lighting has been producing and supplying reliable, efficient and quality lighting products since 1977, constantly proposing high quality and high performance lamps and lighting solutions based on a dedication to detail and quality of finish, as well as a pragmatic touch for ease of installation.

Climar's collaboration with Mr. Siza will feature three series of wall lamps, floor lamps and table lamps, most of which will be exhibited in China for the first time.

The Reggiani brand was founded in 1957 by Goffredo Reggiani. The brand originated in Brianza, Italy, is rooted in Milan, which has a long history of industrial foundation, and has developed into a global field of scientific and technological lighting enterprises after more than half a century.

Reggiani's Lorosae chandelier, designed by Siza in 1999, was originally intended for use in an exhibition at the Palladio Cathedral in Vicenza. The form of the lamp is naturally decorated, which is not contrary to the traditional style, but also rich in the sense of The Times. It is highly integrated with the building and gives an attraction to the surrounding environment.

Ofu is another classic floor lamp created by Siza and Reggiani. It is a fixed embedded luminaire, simple and elegant in form, milky in color, with a long history of accumulation, is not only the standard configuration of master architectural works, but also can become an important ornament in other places.

 

 

This autumn, Liu Chunyi, head of ASCC China Office, will present Siza’s Special Collection as curator and booth designer at Booth 4.1A01 of China Home Expo, bringing Siza's products in many design fields such as interior, furniture, crafts and sculpture to China, and conveying Siza's design concept more comprehensively.
