According to the China International Furniture Expo, on August 26, the State Council Information Office held a press conference in its "Getting Off to a Strong Start in the 15th Five-Year Plan" series. Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), said at the event that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the ministry will strengthen the supply of standards in areas such as smart home products, elderly-care products, and infant and child products, so that consumers can "buy with peace of mind, eat with confidence, and use with comfort."

The consumer goods industry is one of China's traditional competitive industries and a vital sector for people's livelihoods. Xin noted that, to meet the public's demand for higher-quality, more diverse, and more personalized consumption, the MIIT will focus its efforts on three key areas.

On expanding the supply of quality consumer goods, the ministry will deepen the "AI + Three Products" special initiative—aiming to increase product variety, improve quality, and build brands. It will accelerate the cultivation of premium textile and apparel brands and promote cross-brand interoperability in smart home products, making daily life more comfortable, healthier, more convenient, and smarter. At the same time, focusing on areas of high public concern, it will vigorously develop specialty consumer products such as health foods, sports equipment, and educational toys, while strengthening standards supply in smart home, elderly-care, and infant and child products.

On enhancing the influence of Chinese consumer brands, the ministry will organize the "Four One Hundreds" promotional campaign—featuring 100 recommendation ambassadors, 100 micro-documentaries, 100 AI comic dramas, and 100 experience routes for China's famous consumer products—vividly telling the stories of the craftsmanship, ingenuity, and technology behind these renowned brands. Xin said the campaign requires the joint efforts and participation of the whole society to spread the excellence of traditional Chinese culture and continuously elevate the international visibility and reputation of Chinese consumer brands.

On enriching diverse new consumption scenarios, the ministry will issue and implement a policy document on the high-quality development of historical classic industries, accelerate the deep integration of industry, culture, commerce, tourism, and sports, and cultivate China-chic (guochao) quality products that combine practical function, fashionable aesthetics, and cultural depth. It will also organize a nationwide tour of famous consumer products, bringing quality goods into government offices, communities, commercial districts, scenic spots, railway stations, and airports, and launch interactive programs such as production observation tours, hands-on craft experiences, and quality identification workshops, continually enriching a lifestyle that is "see-worthy, play-worthy, buy-worthy, and leisure-worthy."

The China International Furniture Expo believes that the supply of standards is the "infrastructure" of industrial upgrading. By strengthening standard building in smart home and other livelihood sectors, the MIIT is drawing a quality baseline for consumers while paving the way for innovation and interoperability across home furnishing companies—turning "buy with peace of mind, use with comfort" from a vision into an implementable industry consensus.
