1 / International Design Brands
For the first time, “Where the North Sits Down —— RSM Nordic Collective Exhibition” brings together nearly 20 Nordic design brands, offering visitors an authentic international design experience.
The collection features internationally renowned design brands with long histories. Fritz Hansen uses stainless-steel bases to support low-profile silhouettes, precisely embodying the principles of Danish modernism. Carl Hansen cleverly integrates backrests and armrests, achieving a clean and elegant form while ensuring comfortable support. Fredericia combines strength with refinement, allowing its seating to adapt seamlessly to almost any environment. Artek responds to Alvar Aalto's vision of the “universal object” through the use of locally sourced birch wood. De Sede employs modular connections to adapt to different spatial requirements, complemented by a patented cushioning system for enhanced comfort. String uses clear forms, distinctive visual identities, and flexible functionality to allow furniture to continually evolve in everyday life. The collection also introduces a series of young and contemporary brands. Wästberg's hybrid lighting combines high-quality illumination with smooth, compact portability. &Tradition brings the Little Petra lounge chair, originally designed in 1938, back into a contemporary context. Verpan explores the interaction of light and sound to create a multisensory experience. AUDO's curved upholstered armrests give modular combinations an architectural sense of structure. GUBI's P3 lounge chair showcases sculptural elegance through traditional cane weaving. Ferm Living's Rico lounge chair responds to the human body through embracing curves. Wendelbo interprets “soft minimalism” through low-profile silhouettes. Normann Copenhagen uses recycled plastic to create a pixelated surface while allowing the product to function as a plant stand, side table, or seat. Vitra, Arabia, and Iittala also bring a selection of standout products, creating an immersive international atmosphere.

Nine Special Exhibitions, One After Another
This year at Design Source, nine special exhibitions will unfold simultaneously. Nine thematic threads—including material experimentation, spatial narratives, commercial pathways, and cultural translation—will each explore their subjects in depth while interacting and resonating with one another within the same venue.
Good design needs to be seen at a real scale, experienced through actual spatial circulation, and validated through the details of everyday life.
September 5–8, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) in Hongqiao, CIFF Shanghai Hall 4.1 Design Hall. See you there for great design, experienced in person.
