Amid tightening resources and intensifying competition, the furniture industry
faces profound transformation challenges. Unchecked consumption, redun-
dant design, and mismatched supply and demand not only waste enormous
resources but also trap the industry in internal competition. There is an urgent
need for a smarter, more responsible philosophy of design and production.
The Captivating Design special exhibition focuses on the core themes of
“economy” and “sustainability,” aiming to explore a design wisdom of “just
right”. Rejecting excess and superficiality, it advocates precise, efficient, and
pragmatic design thinking, confronting the reality of internal competition and
seeking optimal solutions.
