Gathering at Hongqiao, Captivating Global Attention: The 56th China International Furniture Fair (Shanghai) Concludes Successfully!
The 56th China International Furniture Fair (Shanghai), jointly organized by China Foreign Trade Centre Group, Red Star Macalline Group, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Light Industrial Products and Arts-Crafts, Guangdong Furniture Association, and Guangzhou Furniture Association, successfully concluded on September 12 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai Hongqiao). Under the theme “Design Crossing Boundaries,” this year’s edition brought together over 1,500 domestic and international brands across an exhibition area of 300,000 m², presenting a comprehensive showcase of new scenarios, new supply models, and new functions in home furnishing—driven by design leadership, high-end product launches, and the integration of domestic and international markets. Over the four-day exhibition, a total of 92,709 professional visitors attended, including 80,836 domestic and 11,873 overseas visitors, with international attendance increasing by 13.23% year-on-year. The strong presence of both exhibitors and buyers fueled dynamic on-site trade negotiations, injecting new momentum into home consumption and the dual circulation of domestic and global markets.
During the exhibition, six thematic sub-shows were held concurrently, including the Design Eden Contemporary Design Trade Fair, CIFF Shanghai Furniture Machinery & Woodworking Machinery Fair, CIFF Shanghai Upholstery Tech, CIFF Shanghai Office & Public Spaces Exhibition, CIFF Shanghai Urban Outdoor Furniture Exhibition, and the CIFF Shanghai Home Textiles & Accessories Lifestyle Exhibition. Centered around design-driven home furnishing, the exhibition covered eight major product categories, including upholstered sofas, sleep systems, living room furniture, office, commercial and hospitality furniture, furniture manufacturing equipment, outdoor furniture, home décor, and home textiles. Notably, 2025 also marked the debut of the New Retail Hall, establishing a benchmark for integrated home furnishing retail ecosystems and systematically presenting a comprehensive ecosystem across the entire furniture industry chain.

Industry leaders, professional buyers, distributors, product designers, interior and architectural designers, home furnishing buyers, and design enthusiasts from around the world gathered at the fair, contributing to this grand industry event. The exhibition halls were bustling with activity and vibrant energy, presenting a high-quality, internationally oriented home furnishing showcase.

Design Highlights
HC28 maison, under the theme “Emotional Realms,” engaged in a forward-looking dialogue with leading international design figures including Yabu Pushelberg, Marcel Wanders, Luke Pearson, and Ma Yansong; dozens of newly launched collaborative furniture pieces were seamlessly integrated with HC28 maison’s custom system led by its in-house design team, becoming carriers of emotional experience for visitors. CAMERICH collaborated with Mario Tsai Studio and Magazine Into to present the concept exhibition “Folding Workshop X System Workshop,” while introducing its modular product system X System, rethinking innovation in R&D and manufacturing within the context of large-scale industrial production. COOMO presented a narrative-driven exhibition directed by Chairman Xu Guofang and co-created with international designer Fernando Mora, featuring three major series—DAPO, PUSU, and CEESL—as a comprehensive showcase. HIK demonstrated precise control over modular furniture combinations and overall color coordination, breaking away from single-product thinking to create high-quality living scenarios where visual aesthetics and functionality are highly unified. TREASURE presented its theme “Constructing Sensory Living,” using an open exhibition format to achieve a dynamic balance between rationality and emotion; through clean, rounded lines, its products organically combine wood craftsmanship and upholstery, expressing subtle yet authentic everyday emotions.
New Retail Highlights
Emerging brands including Chuhu Life, Xiaoban Furniture, muu home, Xuxie Furniture, Bluebox, oktota, INNER HAUS, and zolle came together to present a diverse range of new-generation furniture, spanning styles such as natural wood, vintage aesthetics, and wabi-sabi. Mumo Furniture made its first full presentation of the “Natural Symbiosis” collection, featuring rounded forms, skin-friendly leather, and solid wood with metal accents, creating home designs that balance warmth, practicality, and a soothing retro palette. Chaoqu Home Furnishings introduced the Anna solid wood canopy bed, combining cello-inspired elements with Roman column curves to express a refined and artistic lifestyle. Nisco launched its latest “Zero-Gravity” mode, utilizing a linkage system to enable wide-angle, stepless adjustment, with coordinated leg support simulating an astronaut-like floating posture to effectively reduce cardiovascular pressure. BLBM showcased its signature No.0 Smart Bed – Black Edition, featuring an ultra-slim headboard, metal legs, and a distinctive tail-fin design, integrating intelligent functionality with minimalist aesthetics.
